Background

Upon graduating from Stanford University with a degree in Physical Sciences, Chuck enlisted in the US Coast Guard.  After serving as an Officer, including duties in Search and Rescue and Patrol in Viet Nam, he earned his MBA Degree and began his business career.       He started working in the Consumer Products sector, including Planning roles at Max Factor and the position of Director of Production Planning at Vidal Sassoon.   He then began a high-tech career as Director of Purchasing at Merisel Inc, which at the time was the largest distributor of Computer Products.  It was apparent to him that the major success factor in Operations Management was the function of the IT systems and their effective use by the staff, and he started a learning and teaching process in a wide range of corporate technologies. He opened his own consulting practice after leaving Merisel, and that has continued since, with intermittent assignments as an executive at companies that needed a change in leadership and discipline  (See Clients for a more complete list of roles).  He also had a successful career as a Senior Consultant at Peoplesoft Inc. before that company was acquired by Oracle. He began his teaching career and obtained his PMP Certification after completing an assignment as PCNAlert.com's Director of Development and Systems. While continuing to teach, he has accepted consulting engagements at a selective group of startups and corporate clients, leveraging his significant knowledge of the technical tools and process improvements that lead to long-term profitability and teamwork effectiveness. For each consulting assigment, Chuck evaluates the skills needed to achieve the deliverables, and puts together the appropriate team, based on years of experience with highly capable consultants and technical experts from around the world.   Chuck would appreciate the opportunity to discuss potential consulting roles in your organization.   See Contact Us
